The PPECB is firmly committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, ethical conduct and accountability across all areas of its operations. Consistent with this commitment, all allegations of fraud, corruption, bribery, misconduct and unethical behaviour are treated with the utmost seriousness and are appropriately investigated.
We encourage employees, clients, service providers, and members of the public to report any conduct that they reasonably believe may be unlawful, unethical, or inconsistent with the PPECB's values and policies. Reporting concerns not only helps protect the integrity of our organisation but also strengthens our stakeholders trust in the services we provide.
To support this commitment, PPECB has maintained an independent Ethics Hotline since 2009. The hotline is managed by an external service provider, Whistle Blowers, ensuring confidentiality, impartiality, and the protection of those who raise concerns in good faith. Reports may be submitted anonymously through various reporting channels.
The PPECB is committed to ensuring that all reports received through the Ethics Hotline and other reporting mechanisms are carefully assessed and appropriately investigated. Matters reported through these channels are subject to established governance processes and oversight by the PPECB Board.
Where investigations confirm wrongdoing, the PPECB will take appropriate action in accordance with its policies, procedures, and applicable legislation. This may include disciplinary action, contractual remedies, or referral to law enforcement authorities where warranted.
While the PPECB strongly supports individuals who raise concerns in good faith, it also takes seriously allegations that are false, malicious, or deliberately misleading and may take appropriate action where warranted.
Submitting knowingly false, fabricated, frivolous, or malicious complaints undermines the integrity of the whistleblowing process, diverts valuable resources, and can unfairly damage the reputation of individuals and the organisation.
The PPECB therefore reserves the right to investigate reports where there is reason to believe that allegations were made maliciously, dishonestly, or with the intention to mislead. Where it is established that a complaint was knowingly false or submitted in bad faith, the PPECB may take appropriate action against the responsible individual, where that individual's identity is known. Where the individual's identity is not known, the PPECB may conduct an investigation to establish their identity. Such action may include disciplinary measures, civil proceedings to recover costs incurred, and, where applicable, referral to the relevant authorities for criminal investigation.
Individuals are reminded that protections afforded to whistleblowers under applicable legislation do not extend to persons who intentionally submit false or fictitious allegations.
