The Perishable Products Export Control Board (PPECB) has taken note of comments and allegations recently published on a social media platform by an account purporting to raise concerns regarding certain employees.
The allegations have been reviewed and investigated through the appropriate internal processes and those that could be factually determined could not be substantiated. Based on the information available, all claims were found to be unsubstantiated, factually incorrect, and unsupported by evidence.
The PPECB is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, ethical conduct, and accountability across all areas of its operations. While the PPECB takes all allegations of misconduct seriously, it does not investigate or engage with anonymous allegations made through social media platforms or fake profiles. Individuals who wish to report suspected fraud, corruption, misconduct, or unethical conduct are encouraged to do so through the PPECB's official Whistle Blowers ethics hotline and established reporting channels, where concerns can be properly assessed and investigated.
The PPECB strongly supports individuals who raise concerns in good faith and remains committed to ensuring that all legitimate reports are handled fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with due process. However, the PPECB also takes seriously allegations that are knowingly false, malicious, or deliberately misleading.
The PPECB reserves the right to investigate circumstances where there is reason to believe that allegations have been made dishonestly, in bad faith, or with the intention of causing reputational harm. Where it is established that allegations were knowingly false, appropriate action may be taken against the responsible individual where their identity is known. Where necessary and permissible by law, the PPECB may take reasonable steps to establish the identity of individuals responsible for malicious or fraudulent allegations. Such action may include disciplinary measures, civil remedies, and, where warranted, referral to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
The PPECB remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the protection of its employees from unfounded and defamatory allegations, while continuing to encourage the reporting of genuine concerns through the appropriate channels.
