In 2014 the PPECB hosted the inaugural PPECB Chip in for Charity Golf Day in aid of Umtha Welanga Educare Centre, raising R 20 000 in aid of this very worthy cause.

Umtha Welanga Educare Centre is a crèche facility founded in 2000 and is registered with the Western Cape Department of Social Development. The pre-education facility employs 5 people and caters for 56 children. The centre also looks after two children who have a hearing disability. The centre is in desperate need of groceries, furniture, mattresses, toys and computer equipment to ensure that they are able to continue providing for the children in their care. It is hoped that the funds raised from the 2014 PPECB Chip in for Charity Golf Day assisted in meeting these needs.

Having seen the impact that our contribution made to Umtha Welanga the PPECB has once again reached out to its corporate business partners to assist in making this year’s event even more successful and touch the lives of more children in need. With this in mind the PPECB will host their second Chip in for Charity Golf day on 27 November 2015 at the Durbanville Golf Course.

This year DiPAR Systems, the events main sponsor, has nominated Home of Hope as the event’s beneficiary.  Home of Hope was established and began as a safe house in August 2005 to provide a much needed interim place of safety. However, as the project developed, research and statistics showed that the problem of child abuse was far bigger than what was realised. It therefore became necessary for Home of Hope to provide a broader and more effective service for the protection of children and not just that of an interim places of safety. Home of Hope has thus evolved into an organisation that takes care of children in community based foster homes, provides education to children suffering from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and other similar neurodevelopment disorders and runs several other community projects.

The PPECB is proud to once again be able to give back to such a worthy beneficiary and encourages all its clients and service providers to participate in what is sure to be another memorable day on the golf course.

Four-balls cost R4 000 and include snacks on arrival, a golf shirt and cap, greenfees, a halfway lunch buffet dinner and fantastic prizes.

There are also a limited amount of sponsorships still available, that will not only contribute to the lives of others but will also allow you to promote your company to the corporate- and individual market present at the event.
