The PPECB was recently certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

External auditors from SGS spent one week visiting the PPECB Head Office and a various other regions reviewing our quality management system in accordance with the ISO 9001: 2015 standard. SGS an international company with offices throughout South Africa provides Inspection, Testing, Certification and Verification services.

In the build up to the external audit, PPECB conducted a gap analysis with SGS to identify the requirements needed to ensure that the organisation and the quality management system complies with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. At the time, PPECB was certified against the ISO 9001: 2008 standard.

ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organisation and ISO 9001 is one of the standards within the range of ISO 9000 standards. The ISO 9001:2015 standard provides the criteria required for a quality management system.

The ISO 9001 standard and certification helps an organisation to become better and effective by:

  • Implementing and maintaining a good quality management system.
  • Improving the quality of service and or product offering and to review the offering when required
  • Ensuring that the customer’s requirements are determined and fulfilled by monitoring the customer perception of the organization and service offering.

In order to retain the certification it is vital that the quality management system at the PPECB be maintained and for business to adhere to the criteria set out in the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
