The PPECB held its 4th annual Chip in for Charity Golf Day on 27 November 2017 at Durbanville Golf Course. The PPECB is immensely proud of the growth the event has seen as a result of the gracious support received from our clients and stakeholders. Following on from last year’s 112 golfers, we are ecstatic to announce that 140 golfers participated in this year’s event.
The event serves as a platform to reach out to the community in which we operate. As a result of our generous sponsors and eager golfers we are pleased to note that the event generated R30 000 for Home of Hope. The Golf Day’s main sponsor this year is BCX who had the privilege of selecting the beneficiary. This is the third year that Home of Hope has been nominated as the recipient of the event’s proceeds.
Established as a safe house in 2005 to provide an interim place of safety to children in need, Home of Hope’s scope has dramatically expanded since then. As such the organisation now supports children in community based foster homes, provides education to children suffering from Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and other similar neurodevelopmental disorders and runs other community based projects aimed at assisting vulnerable children reach their optimal potential. It is hoped that the funds raised from the Golf Day will assist them to continue with the vital service they provide to our community and South Africa’s youth.
Any fundraising event is only as successful as the support it receives and once again we were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and generosity of our golfers and sponsors. We are also proud to have welcomed several new golfers along with our loyal annual supporters.
We have already initiated discussions with Durbanville Golf Course to secure a date for our 2018 event and will communicate this early in the New Year. Once again, thank you to all those that participated for your support and we look forward to welcoming you to the Chip in for Charity Golf Day 2018.
